That One Time I Got My Vagina Steamed

To celebrate my friend Salima’s birthday, a trio of expat women trekked to Seoul’s Dragon Hill Spa. This spa, or jimjilbang, is the biggest one I’ve been to in Korea. They offer a bevy of services such as hot and cold tubs, wet and dry saunas, the ajumma scrub down, Thai massage, waxing, and the infamous “hip bath” or 채욕 (chai-yok).

Random Thoughts: The Repatriation Edition

  • When did customs at JFK get so fast? It’s even faster than going through the speedy immigration process at Seoul’s Incheon airport. I was done in less than 10 minutes. Well done, NYC. Well done!
  • Hey now! I can understand just about everything everyone is saying – even the ones who don’t speak English. There were French tourists trying to organize how to get their big group to the hotel in the city. There was a Spanish speaking family trying to find their loved one… in the wrong terminal.
  • Damn we’re a fat country. Everyone is freaking huge!
